♻️ From mess to reflection ~ a creative recycling revolution ♻️
200 young participants built a bridge between art, sustainability and community
In August 2025, I participated in the Climate People's Meeting in Middelfart, where I was invited to hold two collage workshops on The Place of Hope in collaboration with the Youth Network and Generation Hope.
The workshop was based on sustainability; how materials that are actually on their way to being discarded can be given new life through creative expression.
Around 200 students and their teachers participated in the day for upper secondary and primary schools. The feedback showed that it had been both a fun and meaningful experience: Sitting together with glue, scissors and paper while the conversation went on created an analogue community where mobile phones were given a break, performance pressure was put aside, and creativity could flourish freely.
The art of collage once again proved to be something very special. It is easily accessible, simple and requires no prior knowledge. Everyone can create, regardless of experience. For the young participants, the workshop was a reminder that creativity is not about performing, but about playing, experimenting and discovering one's own expression.
